To empower children, youth, and vulnerable communities in Ghana through sports, education, and advocacy, promoting gender equality, youth development, and economic empowerment in safe, inclusive spaces.
A Ghana where children, youth, and underserved communities, regardless of social or economic background, have equal access to quality education, opportunities to develop their talents, and the support needed to become self-reliant.
GIMAT Volunteers Network began with a simple belief: that sport has the power to change lives far beyond the touchline. What started as informal football sessions with street-connected youth in Accra grew into a full social enterprise spanning women's empowerment, education, mental health advocacy, and youth entrepreneurship.
Today, GVN partners with schools, communities and international platforms, including the Homeless World Cup and Africa Women's Cup, to give young Ghanaians a stage, a skill, and a second chance. Our long-term sustainability strategy centres on expanding economic opportunity: equipping youth with practical job skills and entrepreneurial training so they can generate and manage their own income long after our programs end.
GVN's street soccer sessions bring together street-connected youth for training, mentorship and tournaments across Accra: the foundation of our sport-for-change model.
GVN hosted a community street soccer tournament at Ashaley Botwe Old Town Park, Accra, uniting youth against HIV/AIDS through sport, under our Homeless World Cup partnership.
Hundreds of senior high school girls across multiple schools, including Obuasi Senior High and Obuasi Senior High Tech, joined GVN's flagship summit on educational excellence and reproductive health.
GVN street soccer athletes proudly wore the Ghana colours at the Homeless World Cup, competing on international pitches and returning home as ambassadors for social change.
Our young women's team stood on the winners' podium at the Homeless World Cup Africa Women's Cup, medals around their necks and the Ghana flag held high.
Every program is rooted in the community it serves, designed alongside teachers, parents, and local leaders.
We use football, basketball and street soccer not as an end, but as the entry point to education, health and healing.
Our long-term strategy centres on economic empowerment: practical skills that outlast any single program cycle.
We are driven by a passion for using sport as a tool for innovation and social change, collaborating with businesses, organizations and communities to build a better world for all.
