Through workshops, football training, summits and mentorship programs, we provide young women and girls with the tools they need to build confidence, protect their rights, and pursue education and leadership opportunities.
Our flagship Biology of the Girl Child Summit, themed "Empowering Girls, Enriching Ghana", has brought together hundreds of senior high school students for frank, guided conversations on reproductive health, self-esteem and academic excellence.

Sport is more than a game: it's a platform for teaching life skills, building discipline, and creating safe spaces for dialogue and healing. Through community leagues, training sessions and international tournaments, we use sport to educate, empower and transform.
Our teams have proudly represented Ghana at the Homeless World Cup and the Africa Women's Cup, bringing home medals, trophies and renewed belief in what's possible.

Education is at the heart of our mission. We support both formal schooling and informal learning for youth who are out of school or at risk of dropping out. Our planned Youth Empowerment Centre will include a library and digital learning hub.
GVN also offers training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, health education and digital skills: practical knowledge that opens doors long after the classroom.

Our community tournaments create a platform for street-connected youth to showcase their talent, build friendships, and gain a sense of belonging. Events like "Play Safe, Stay Safe", uniting against HIV/AIDS through street soccer, combine competition with life-saving awareness.
Participants also benefit from counseling, skills training, and mentorship, helping them reintegrate into society with dignity.

GVN promotes mental wellness by creating safe spaces where youth can talk, heal, and be heard. We integrate mental health education into our programs, offer peer support, and raise awareness around emotional resilience, self-esteem, and trauma recovery.
By addressing mental health openly, inside our summits, sports sessions and mentorship circles, we break stigma and foster healthy, confident individuals.
Homelessness, especially among youth, is a growing challenge in Ghana. GVN advocates for social inclusion and support systems for young people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.
Through storytelling, community engagement, and participation in global platforms like the Homeless World Cup, we shine a light on their struggles and their strength.

Through sport and cultural exchange, GVN creates life-changing travel opportunities for young people and volunteers, from representing Ghana at international tournaments to touring historic sites across the country.
Join us to discover Ghana's rich culture: waterfalls, wildlife, castles and canopy walks, and share our story with the world.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GVN took the conversation out of the hall and onto the road, alongside the Biology of the Girl Child Summit. Our message was simple: know your body, get screened early, and never face it alone.
Students, volunteers and community members walked together with placards, then turned an open field into one big aerobics session. Health messages travel further when people are moving, laughing and talking about them together.

A procession of pink shirts and placards along the road, carrying the message to homes, shops and roadsides.

Sport is how we open hard conversations. A mass aerobics session brought everyone together and celebrated healthy bodies.

Volunteers challenged fear and stigma head on, and pointed people towards free breast screening.

A new lump, a change in the shape or skin of the breast, or unusual nipple discharge are all worth checking. Most changes are not cancer, but getting checked early gives you the best options.
